The Company's manufacturing and distribution operations are conducted globally. As of March 31, 2009, the Company has 181 subsidiaries and four affiliates outside Japan and 30 subsidiaries and six affiliates in Japan. The Company's customers include individuals, corporations, governments and governmental agencies. Kyocera's has seven segments: Fine Ceramic Parts Group, Semiconductor Parts Group, Applied Ceramic Products Group, Electronic Device Group, Telecommunications Equipment Group, Information Equipment Group, and Others. In January 2009, Kyocera Mita Corporation acquired TAAG, a sales company of information equipment in Germany. Its subsidiaries include Kyocera Industrial Ceramics Corporation, Kyocera America, Inc. and Kyocera Solar Corporation.
