NuVista Energy Ltd. (NuVista) is an independent oil and natural gas company. NuVista is engaged in the exploration for, and the development, production and acquisition of oil and natural gas reserves in the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Its principal oil and natural gas properties include Wapiti, Pembina, Ferrier/Sunchild, Kaybob/Waskahigan, west central Saskatchewan, Provost, Oyen, northwest Saskatchewan, the Martin Creek, Black and Conroy properties and Northwestern Alberta. Wapiti is located south of Grande Prairie, Alberta, 520 kilometers northwest of Calgary. Its properties in Pembina area include Pembina and Alder Flats. Ferrier/Sunchild operating area is 200 kilometers northwest of Calgary, Alberta, and includes both its Ferrier and Sunchild properties. In October 2012, the Company sold three property packages, which includes Ferrier, Alder Flats and Easyford in the W5 operating area; and Chauvin, Auburndale and Wildmere in the W4 operating area.
